Many parts of the church fabric are now in need of urgent repair or replacement. The time has come when we in our turn, to safeguard St James Church  for future generations must make the effort of restoring or repairing these parts of the building.

Appeal For Donations and Gifts.  If you can or would like to help St James Church with a donation or gift  towards the cost of these repairs please contact.

Roof Repairs

Glazing. Windows are sagging caused by the lead-work softening and wires failing.

Roof & Guttering. Phased  repair or replacement of parts of the roof is planned, along side   guttering and flashing  repairs. The integral Church hall, used by the community has recently  had a new roof  lining.

Brickwork. Extensive damage to brickwork due to age and the urban environment  must be addressed. Soft sandstone is now spalling rapidly and needs to be addressed.

The Tower. The tower needs re-pointing as erosion to the brickwork joints in the buttresses and general brickwork is showing,  and water ingress through the east wall of the chancel has become a priority.
